14:15 - 15:00 Studying in Japan
What makes Japanese universities unique? How do they differ from UK  universities? What is it like to be a student in Japan? Find out the  answers to all these questions and more in our talk show with British  and Japanese students and alumni of Japanese Higher Education institutions.
15:15 – 16:00 Working in Japan
Mention of work in Japan tends to conjure up images of white-shirted  salarymen working long hours. But what is working in Japan really like?  Tom Mayes of the British Council Japan will discuss his experiences of  working in Japan and Susan Meehan of the Daiwa Anglo-Japanese Foundation  will introduce the work possibilities offered by the JET Programme.
16:30 – 17:15 Regeneration of North East Japan
Professor Kijima, Vice-President of Tohoku University, will give a talk on the  recovery of the regions affected by the earthquake and tsunami of 11  March 2011. Tohoku University is located in one of the areas worst-hit by the  disaster and Professor Kijima will talk about how his institution and region  have fought back following the devastation.
17:45 – 18:30 Japan: an insider's perspective (from the outside)
Why does Japan continue to be so popular in spite of its recent difficulties?  From manga to fashion, architecture to food, Japan remains a captivating  country for people worldwide. London resident and architect Kazuya  Yamazaki will discuss the enduring popularity of Japan as well as the latest  trends and crazes sweeping the nation from the unique perspective of an  insider looking in from the outside.
